I’m a User Experience Designer residing in Johannesburg, South Africa.
With a Bachelors in Commerce, I’ve spent over 20 years working in technology, mostly in the financial services industry, including 11 years in the United Kingdom. In my role as a project manager I have effectively led and worked with cross-functional agile teams on a variety of technology projects. This has given me broad exposure to many different methodologies and environments, with the opportunity to implement systems and processes such as Agile UX.
I have always been fascinated by the discovery and design phases of project, and often found myself enthusiastically contributing to the creative process. During the MBA I was exposed to design thinking which in turn led me to discover user experience design. It was like the final piece of the puzzle had clicked into place. I had finally found a potential career that would allow me to draw on skills from my diverse background while feeding my passion to solve problems through design. The rest is history as I have turned my focus to UX design.
When I’m not doing design work I’m either doing some physical activity such as CrossFit, triathlon, cycling or on some adventure. I have been lucky enough to travel to many countries across the world and experience diverse cultures. This experience helps me to adapt easily to different environments and build empathy with users from different backgrounds.
